TRANSMISSION FEATURES:
CASE: [-RE-MANUFACTURED
TO OUR HIGHEST STANDARDS]
EXTERIOR:- is meticulously cleaned and inspected. The cleaning and surface
refinishing process is accomplished by high pressure wash, hot chemical pressure wash, oxide blasting and final high pressure
rinse.
-all casting flashings are removed
to stress relieve the case and improve the appearance;
- careful examination of the case
for stress cracks, impact damage, warpage or stripped threads;
- a satin finish lacquer
sealer coat is applied to provide easy maintenance and good looks;
-all bolts, fittings, hardware and pan are glass
beaded, primed and painted or clear coated to keep the original appearance.
- Stamped steel deep
pan with billet aluminum filter extension is utilized to provide extra cooling capacity
and increased fluid to prevent air suction on hard launches and decelleration. Every pan is equipped with a drainplug
to make adjustments and regular maintenance a much easier task.
INTERIOR:-
excess cast flashings are removed to stress-relieve the case;
-servo and accumulator bores are honed to
restore ring seal for proper apply and release pressures;
-mating surfaces of the valvebody and pump are re-surfaced
for true sealing and to prevent crossflows;
-the overrunning clutch (sprag) is replaced with
the ULTRA SPRAG 16 roller,6 bolt race to virtually eliminate sprag failure-the
most noted cause of transmission failure in the 727s;
-meticulously cleaned to prevent any
contamination of internal components.
-lubrication
and cooling passages are increased and 6 AN fittings are added to substantially
increase reliability.
-the vent
system is relocated, to a 4AN fitting on the tailhousing, to prevent oil spillage during
high temperature, high speed and competition usage.
-all seals, gaskets, seal rings and filters are
replaced with the finest premium quality, precision made components;
-all drums and sealing surfaces
are re-surfaced to proper face textures for optimum performance their specific function;
-drum bushings are replaced;
-Tailhousing bushing and seal
are replaced;
-pump is re-machined, new bushing and
seals installed and modifications made to enhance lubrication, line pressure, converter apply pressure and cooling. The
pump is carefully blueprinted and assembled with .002-.0025" side clearance for optimum performance.
- pump and forward drive hub are modified
to increase lubricaton and cooling of the direct clutch pack for longer clutch life;
-a new 5 pinion all
steel carrier front planetary is utilized to provide additional torque capacity necessary for high powered
vehicles;
-forward clutch pack release spring,
roller clutch and spring components, thrust washers and seal rings are replaced with
new upgraded components;
- BILLET STEEL or ALUMINUM Direct
Drum with Billet Aluminum piston with a Billet Aluminum 15 spring retainer for
the ultimate in safety and performance;
-the 2nd gear apply lever (kickdown)
is replaced with a Billet Steel 4.2:1 ratio lever to increase band apply pressure
for greater clamping force.
-BILLET STEEL, BALL BEARING OUTPUT
SHAFT SUPPORT with ROLLERIZED LOW/REVERSE DRUM, are installed to substantially reduce drag and
heat and eliminate the notorious drum/shaft/support failure in high output Torqueflites;
-the output shaft is carefully
inspected for heat damage, straightness or signs of wear and then polished on all bearing surfaces to reduce bearing
friction and wear and enhance lubrication;
-the governor assembly is eliminated to reduce rotating
mass and possible pin failure;
-clutch friction
plates (5 in High Gear Drum and 4 in Forward) are all premium
high energy Kevlar compound featuring the latest technology in high co-efficient composites to
maximize performance, longevity and fade-free performance consistancy;
-the DIRECT BAND is a new casted, extra wide, Carbon lined, SUPER
BAND [Red Lined with Aluminum drum] lined Casting for durability and performance ;
- the BILLET STEEL BAND APPLY STRUT lever eliminates flexing and bending for a positive band
apply;
-all pressure plates
are machined and surfaced to provide 100% friction contact apply area;
-all friction bearing steel
plates are new high grade American made, components with a surface designed specifically to enhance
fluid retention with the friction clutch materials utilized;
- BILLET
ALUMINUM Low/Reverse servo and Spring Retainer, and Intermediate Servo Cover along with band
apply and release servo modifications, assure extreme reliability for firm direct apply shifts
without power robbing cushion apply.
The band apply pin is polished and moly burnished
to prevent binding, friction and wear;
- each component including
the pump, clutch packs, servos, forward drum assembly, input and output shaft, are precisely blueprinted to the optimum clearance specification.
-
NOTE: Certain applications may require additional cost component upgrades as determined by
power, weight and other factors.
VALVEBODY:- is carefully disassembled
and inspected for previous modification, cracks, warpage or damaged passages or bores;
- every valve is
hand polished to remove burrs and scratches;
- the valve bores are carefully
honed to remove burrs or scratches;
- pressure governing
springs are replaced to increase converter apply and line pressures for improved lubrication quicker
shift characteristics;
- Anti Drainback valving is added to prevent converter drain-back which would result in delayed converter
engagement, fluid aeration, inconsistant performance and accelerated clutch wear;
-modifications and valve
changes are made to provide Lubrication in all gears including Park;
-the LAZER CUT, STAINLESS
STEEL SEPARATOR PLATE ,prevents crossflows created by increased pressure, increase fluid flow and velocity
to apply clutch packs quicker and with greater clamping force and release bands quicker to improve performance and increase
component life;
- the main
governing body and transfer plate are re-surfaced to prevent crossflow and pressure leakage and in some models, fluid
channels are reinforced to avoid possible fatigue failure;
- each valvebody is precision
assembled using hand tools only and carefully calibrated for it's particular application;
and
- the valvebody is finally
bench tested to assure proper pressure apply sequences, shift circuit operation and leakdown.
TESTING: Every function of the transmission
assembly is precision tested during the rebuild to assure leak free pressure apply every component. Every circuit apply
and release function is precisely tested and evaluated prior to completion. Only through comprehensive tests are we
assured that the transmission will perform to its' peak efficiency and customer satisfaction.
