TO CALCULATE YOUR GEAR RATIO/ TIRE SIZE/ MPH or RPM - click here

NOTE:  Carefull consideration must be given to selecting the correct rear gear ratio and tire size to maintain sufficient engine speed(rpm) at cruising speed (approx. 70mph) when in overdrive, to remain in the operating range of your engine.  Camshaft duration, carburation and manifold design are the main factors in determining what rpm you must maintain for efficiency and driveability.

The STOCK CHRYSLER "SLAPSTICK" SHIFTER can not be used with the A500 or A518 transmissions.  The rod that goes down to the bottom of the transmissions on the Slapstick shifter runs directly into the top of the overdrive section of the transmission.

OUR EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS WILL BE PLEASED TO ASSIST YOU IN SELECTING THE CORRECT SMR OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION FOR YOUR APPLICATION.
